NBC has added yet another series to Dick Wolf’s Chicago procedural franchise. Chicago Justice, a spinoff series following Chicago Med, Chicago PD and mothership series Chicago Fire, features Chicago State’s Attorney’s team of prosecutors and investigators as they deal with city politics awhile fearlessly pursuing justice.

Characters from the legal offshoot were introduced on last night’s episode of Chicago PD, which earned 6.7 million viewers and a 1.4 rating for the show. The cast of the spinoff includes Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Nazneen Contractor, Joelle Carter and Ryan-James Hatanaka.

At the same time, the network has also picked up a new dramedy from Dan Fogelman, one of the executive producers of Grandfathered, which has recently been axed.

This is Us revolves around an ensemble whose life stories intertwine in curious ways. Described as “refreshingly honest and provocative.” the series stars Mandy Moore (Red Band Society), Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls) and Sterling K. Brown (The People v. O.J. Simpson), among others.

Chicago Justice is expected to debut in the fall while This is Us will premiere in the 2016-2017 season.
