Heidi Montag is not letting all The Hills controversy and her ongoing feud with former BFF Lauren Conrad slow her down. In fact, the reality star is gearing up to record her debut album, with the help of manager and fiance Spencer Pratt.

“It will be kind of like the Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears and Fergie,” Montag said of her album in an interview with Blender magazine.

Montag, 21, claims she has always been into the performing arts.  She began dancing at the tender age of 2, and appeared in several stage productions, including Cinderella and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

“Acting, singing, dancing — it’s always been in me,” she said.

Aside from the fame she has gained from appearing on The Hills, Heidi Montag can rely on the well-connected Pratt to promote her upcoming album and music career.  Pratt, who intends to turn his fiancée into “a multiplatinum pop star,” has managed to enlist the help of music producer, David Foster, who appeared in Pratt’s self-produced reality series, The Princes of Malibu.

“David Foster heard I was working on music and he was like, ‘Come by the studio, I’d like to see if you can sing,’” Montag recalled to Blender.  “So I sang for him a little bit and he was like, ‘OK, great.  Let’s do this.’”

Heidi Montag’s high-profile connections haven’t guaranteed an easy ride, however.  In August, her song, “Body Language,” was leaked to Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show, with many accusations of intentional leaking.  Not long after, TMZ compared her live performance of her song “Higher” to the disastrous appearance of Britney Spears at the VMAs.

“It’s not a song that people know and can sing along to, and it’s not a club song where people can shake their booties,” The Hills star told Blender.  “So it was maybe not the right place.  But a lot of people were screaming and saying, ‘I love it, I love it, I wanna buy your CD right now!’”

As Montag is confident about her singing skills, so is she certain of her acting capabilities.

“I also plan to win an Oscar,” she said.  “I’m very ambitious.”

In the meantime, however, Montag, who will begin recording her album in February, is busy finishing up the third season of The Hills.

“They picked up 18 episodes,” Montag said, “which is unheard of, especially for a reality show.”
