Now that she is “impartial” after being cut off from The Bachelor, 25-year-old lacrosse coach and single mom Megan Parris says she’s now doubting the whole premise of the show, especially the process by which the ABC reality show makes its romantic coupling.

“I will say that after that happened, I really began to question the whole process and the genuity [sic] of it,” Parris tells ET.  “I really began to question whether he was really there for love or um, something else.”

After surviving the a twist on the first night that could have very well caused her elimination, Parris became one of the four suitors eliminated by Jason Mesnick, who held off his final rose for some reason.  Parris, for her part, couldn’t contain her surprise and admits that she’s shocked with what happened, partly because Mesnick told her something prior to the Rose Ceremony.

“I was actually the last girl to speak with him right before the Rose Ceremony,” she confirms.  “And he said ‘I’m so glad you’re here, you’re such a positive energy in the house.’  And I said ‘You know, that first day at the pool party when you pulled me aside and said ‘Megan, I want you here.  You would’ve gotten a rose anyway,’ I really appreciate that Jason.’”

“I was extremely confused, because I had just spoken to him and he had basically reassured me of my spot there.”

In addition, Parris reasons that she kind of feels awkward about the whole thing initially, after being “through a lot” in the last two years with the her baby-daddy and his surrounding company.  “I have a bit of an edge about me with strangers now.”
