Christina Applegate’s brand new sitcom, Samantha Who? is set to debut two weeks from now on October 15 at 9:30pm on ABC.  The former Married with Children star plays a not-so-pleasant woman who gets a quirky second chance at reforming herself when she wakes up with a case of amnesia from an eight-day coma after falling victim to a hit-and-run mishap.

Aside from Applegate, who plays the title role of Samantha Newly, the new series also features Crash‘s Jennifer Esposito as Samantha’s best friend, Andrea, and Jean Smart and Kevin Dunn as her parents, Regina and Howard.  Aside from the show’s regular cast members, we recently have word of an exciting casting piece of news for Samantha Who?.

Eddie Cibrian, familiar to viewers as Russell Varon on the 2005-2006 suspense drama, Invasion, will guest-star in an installment of the debuting Samantha Who?  Cibrian will essay the role of Kevin, who is chosen by Regina, Samantha’s mom, to be her memory-challenged daughter’s blind date.  The catch, which should offer up several humorous sequences, is that neither Kevin nor Samantha have any inkling about the maternal intervention setup.  Though no details have been made available yet, the storyline appears open for Cibrian to grace more than just one Samantha Who?? episode.

Aside from Samantha Who? Cibrian will also be making several appearances on another new ABC series, Dirty Sexy Money, which premiered last week.  Cibrian will portray Sebastian Fleet, the most recent in a string of Karen Darling’s (Natalie Zea) ex-husbands.

Cibrian’s upcoming turns on both Samantha Who?? and Dirty Sexy Money, mark the actor’s return not only to television but to ABC, which was home to his former vehicle, Invasion.  After Invasion, Cibrian starred in FOX’s short-lived Vanished as well as another ABC project, the pilot for Football Wives, the American version of the U.K.’s Footballer$ Wives.  Unfortunately, Football Wives wasn’t picked up by the network.
