Drake Bell, star of the Nickelodeon tween series Drake & Josh, is heading to New York late spring to attend the St. Francis Preparatory School’s senior prom.  The event, which has been deemed “The Ultimate Prom,” is being made possible by Universal Motown Records and Hearst Magazine Digital Media, and will be held on Friday, May 30 at the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan.

“The Ultimate Prom” is also being featured in video series that can be viewed primarily through mypromstyle.com/theultimateprom, the websites of participating artists and Universal Motown’s website. The series follows the artists and the seniors of St. Francis Prep as they pair off to search for the perfect dress and tux, discuss dates and receive prom makeovers. The artists are also serving as mentors to students with talent in the performing arts, with one lucky student being chosen to perform as the opening act come prom night.

Apart from Drake Bell, who played one of the titular characters on Drake & Josh, other artists slated to attend “The Ultimate Prom” are JoJo, Lloyd, Suai and Jada.  A surprise marquee artist will also be attending the event.

Universal Motown Records president Sylvia Rhone said in a press release that the company is pleased to have partnered with Hearst to bring upon the interactive event, as it allows them “to introduce our emerging and established artists to a great target audience of teens.”

Hearst’s vice president of content and business development Christopher Johnson, meanwhile, said “The Ultimate Prom” will give fans the opportunity to take part in this unique prom experience, may they be from St. Francis Prep or part of their online community.

“This program offers the perfect synergy between our well-established magazines – CosmoGIRL!PROM, SeventeenPROM, and TeenPROM – our teen network of web sites, including the brand-new MyPromStyle.com, and Universal’s amazing roster of young artists,” Johnson said.

Fans of Drake Bell who are not interested in viewing the budding music artist in “The Ultimate Prom” can catch him on reruns of Drake & Josh, which airs on Nickelodeon, as well as on his upcoming comedy flicks, Superhero! and The College.
