With Lost already in its final season, there’s one question: where will the main cast go after the finale airs? We’ve got an answer concerning Daniel Dae Kim: he’s staying in Hawaii.

Indeed, there is no leaving this island.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kim has taken a lead role in CBS’ reboot of the classic cop series Hawaii Five-O. He is set to play Detective Chin Ho Kelly, played by Kam Fong in the original series, which aired from 1968-1980.

The reboot is headed by Fringe co-creators Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and CSI: NY showrunner Peter Lenkov. While they’re just shooting a pilot, I’m expecting that CBS will pick this up over the next few months, thanks to strong buzz.

As for Kim’s partner in crime? There’s word that CBS is talking to Alex O’Loughlin, last seen on the recently-cancelled Three Rivers (and, of course, on the missed Moonlight) to take on the role of Detective Steve McGarett.
