Things are about to get ugly on Dancing with the Stars. Following the first Cirque du Soleil Night, two couples will be eliminated from the competition. It could be almost anyone leaving, which should make all 11 couples very nervous.

'Dancing with the Stars' Results: 2 Go Home in a Double Elimination

In addition to the results, the special one-hour episode will also include performances by DNCE as well as Derek Hough dancing AND playing the drums. There’s no time to waste.

LIVE…from Hollywood…this is Dancing with the Stars!

The show kicks off with a performance by DNCE, featuring the best Jonas brother (sorry, Nick). “Body Moves” is no “Cake by the Ocean.” That’s a song I could listen to on repeat forever.

The Results, Part 1

We’re kicking things off with Calvin and Marilu.

The first couple SAFE is…Marilu and Derek!
The second couple SAFE is…Calvin and Lindsay!

Even though Marilu was second-to-last on the leaderboard, having Derek as a partner guaranteed her safety. And it will for a while.

A Proposal

HOLY CRAP! Sasha Farber and Emma Slater do a Contemporary routine that ends with a kiss, and then he gets down on one knee and proposes! Sasha and Emma are engaged!!! That was a beautiful moment. The whole DWTS family comes out to celebrate.

It’s followed by a cool routine from Val, Maks, Gleb, Artem, and Alan. If you love sexy Russian men, this is for you.

THE FIRST ELIMINATION

We’re getting the first elimination out of the way early. And it’s down to Amber, Babyface, and Maureen. Ooh, any of these could go home.

The third couple SAFE is…Amber and Maks!
The fourth couple SAFE is…Maureen and Artem!

Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Allison Holker ARE ELIMINATED!

That’s not a surprise. He had a really bad night with very low scores and doing that in a week with a double elimination was deadly. It’s also sad for Allison, coming back after having a baby and going out earlier than she ever has.

And with Amber and Maureen safe, the last elimination is a lot more clear. I assume Laurie, James and Terra are all going to be safe, which means it’s between Jana, Ryan and Vanilla Ice.

Derek vs. Derek

Derek Hough does a performance he choreographed to a song he co-wrote and plays drums on. It’s insanely cool, especially when he takes his shirt off and tap dances in a battle against a clothed Derek playing the drums. Be still my heart, Double Derek! He’s locking up his Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography early this year.

The Results, Part 2

It’s time to find out the results for the three couples with the best scores.

The fifth couple SAFE is…Laurie and Val!
The sixth couple SAFE is…Terra and Sasha!
The first couple IN JEOPARDY is…James and Sharna!

WTF? Why are they messing with James? He’s not going anywhere.

The Results, Part 3

It’s down to Ryan, Vanilla Ice, and Jana, any of whom could be eliminated.

The seventh couple SAFE is…Ryan and Cheryl!
The second couple IN JEOPARDY is…Vanilla Ice and Witney!
The third couple IN JEOPARDY is…Jana and Gleb!

So Marilu and Ryan both avoided elimination despite having lower scores than all of the couples in jeopardy. It’s good to have well-known pros who’ve won multiple Mirror Balls as partners.

THE SECOND ELIMINATION

It’s down to James (the best), Vanilla (the worst) and Jana (my shocking prediction).

The eighth couple SAFE is…James and Sharna!
The ninth couple SAFE is…Jana and Gleb!

Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson ARE ELIMINATED!

Wow, just like Allison, this is Witney’s worst finish ever. Vanilla was a great sport, but not very good. The most shocking part is that it means the first four eliminated stars are ALL men. James, Calvin, and Ryan, the three athletes, are the only guys still standing.

Next week it’s Most Memorable Year Night, so get your tissues ready. And since there is no results show, I assume no one will be going home.

Dancing with the Stars returns to airing just once a week starting Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
