Their dancing time may be over for the moment, but that does not mean that the celebrities and professionals of Dancing with the Stars season 13 are staying out of the headlines. On the contrary, recent news has some of our favorite dancers anticipating first-time parenthood, booking guest-starring roles and possibly breaking off long-term engagements.

J.R. Martinez Is Going to Be a Father!
According to a report in People.com, Dancing with the Stars season 13 winner J.R. Martinez is about to get another prize — he and his girlfriend, Diana Gonzalez-Jones are expecting their first baby in May. J.R. was quoted in the article, full of excitement about the baby’s arrival. “We found out just last week it’s a girl, and we are over the moon,” he said.

Although they have known each other since 2008, when J.R. Martinez first got a role on All My Children (Gonzales-Jones was a producer’s assistant at the time), the couple only started dating last year. J.R. didn’t exactly talk about the relationship during his time on Dancing with the Stars, but obviously things were getting serious.

Karina Smirnoff Heads to Apartment 23
Without dancing to fill her time, professional dancer Karina Smirnoff looks to be trying out a little acting. PerezHilton.com reports that Karina will appear as a guest star on the upcoming ABC comedy, Apartment 23 (sometimes also known as Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23).

The episode, which will air at some point in the spring of 2012, has Karina acting with some of the show’s stars, including James van der Beek (of Dawson’s Creek, playing a version of himself on Apartment 23) and Dean Cain (best known for Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman).

There’s no word yet on if there will be dancing (safe to bet this is a yes) or what Karina’s role on the program will be.

Has Chaz Ended His Engagement?
It’s hardly official, but The National Enquirer has reported that the engagement of Chaz Bono to long-term girlfriend Jennifer Elia has ended. A report on the alleged breakup blames Chaz’s recent fame, his gender reassignment surgeries (which came after the relationship began), weight issues, insomnia and alcoholism.

Most likely, this is not entirely true. But we will probably find out soon if the basic premise — the breakup of an engaged couple — is real.

UPDATE: TMZ.com has reported that a rep for Chaz Bono, Howard Bragman, confirmed the breakup. His reported statement on the matter: “They leave this relationship with great love, respect and affection toward one another. No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”
