Tonight’s Dancing with the Stars results show narrowed the field from five couples down to four.  Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts were the first to find out that, despite scoring the fewest points last night, they had enough fan support to make it all the way through to the semi-finals next week.  This was probably due to sympathy for her father’s death because she had the worst performances, based purely on dance abilities.

The next couple to be safe was Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough.  This means that the judges’ scores really don’t mean anything if the highest scoring couple and the lowest scoring couple are both safe from elimination.  Helio and Julianne did so well last night, that Len asked them to encore the quickstep routine that earned them a perfect score.

Gloria Estefan performed twice tonight, first singing “A Bailar” from her new album “90 Millas,” and then performing her famous single “Conga.”  World-famous choreographer and dancer, Fatima Robinson also took to the Dancing with the Stars stage.  Usually, if Tom and Samantha have to prepend “world-famous” before someone’s name, it means that I’ve never heard of them.

Some of the more interesting bits of filler in the normally content-light results show was a look into the lives of the professional dancers.  It’s nice to see them get more recognition since they are really doing the heavy lifting on this show.  From this we learn that everyone thinks Edyta Sliwinska is hot.

This week again, the bottom two were not revealed.  During the last three minutes of the show, Tom and Samantha revealed that Jennie Garth and Derek Hough are safe, along with Melanie Brown and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.  Cameron and Edyta had the lowest combined total of votes and points, which means that this is the end of their journey on Dancing with the Stars.  I am in complete disagreement because, while I can agree that Cameron is certainly not the best dancer among the bunch, he is probably the most improved and he was certainly better than Marie, at least.
