We’re one week away, Big Brother fans.  Big Brother 9, the first season of the series to debut in the Winter, premiere next Tuesday, February 12 and CBS is ramping up the hype machine.  Tomorrow morning, at some point between 7am and 9am on CBS’s The Early Show, Julie Chen will announce the full sixteen member cast of Big Brother 9.  It was originally thought that the show would only feature fourteen house guests, but recent CBS advertisements have increased that number to sixteen.  Why not, I suppose.  More fun for everyone.

The casting announcement is a big deal for Big Brother fans, as it’s our first introduction to these people.  CBS has done an impressive job of keeping the cast list a secret.  There was a cast list leaked recently on the internet that, it appears, many fans are taking as fact. CBS has steadfastly denied the validity of this list and I see no reason not to believe them.  When something leaks and it’s all true, the networks generally ignore it, not wanting to make it a bigger story. When the real cast is announced tomorrow morning, we at BuddyTV will be the first to let you know.

As for some rumors, there have been plenty as of late regarding Big Brother 9.  Not many seem to be true.  One floating around the internets is that Big Brother 9 will be the first big reality show to have a trans-gendered contestant.  This doesn’t appear to be the case, but you never know.  If we are to take hints from CBS promos, then we may infer that the twist involves some sort of hidden secret in the pasts of these contestants.  The song “Dirty Little Secret” plays in the background of the CBS Big Brother commercials.  “Dirty Laundry” is the tag line being used to advertise the internet feeds.  Another rumor is that Dustin’s brother will be appearing on this upcoming season.  Dustin himself has refuted this claim.

Of course, we’ll know exactly who the Big Brother 9 house guests will be come tomorrow morning.  At that point, I’m sure the masses will begin to dig into the backgrounds of these people and the information will start flowing in.
