Fans of Battlestar Galactica who can’t get enough of the hit Sci Fi Channel series now have a chance to take their favorite characters home.  Diamond Select Toys recently released action figures based on the show’s most popular characters, and four more are set to hit shelves in March.  The company also plans to release toy versions of ships that have been seen on the series.  Diamond Select was a natural choice to bring the Battlestar Galactica crew to the collectible realm, as they’ve already released lines based on popular shows such as Stargate SG-1 and Star Trek.

The first group of figures released included Lee Adama, clad not in a towel but in his Viper uniform, as well as Number Six in her patented red dress, and everyone’s favorite nugget, Brendan “Hot Dog” Costanza.  Lt. Helo, Chief Tyrol, and Sam Anders are also available.  The next set will feature Kara “Starbuck” Thrace in her flight suit, a Cylon Centurion, Admiral Helena Cain, and Lt. Louanne “Kat” Katraine.  As for ship replicas, Diamond Select plans to release some beginning in April.  The first releases will include statues of a Cylon Raider, a Viper, and both a regular and damage scarred Battlestar Galactica.

Diamond Select has also created a line of two-inch tall BSG “minimate” figures, which includes various characters from both the new Battlestar Galactica and the original series.

Aside from the aforementioned shows, Diamond Select has also released figures based on 24, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Serenity.  They have an uncanny ability for catching the likenesses of the actors and translating them to the seven-inch figures.  You’d swear you were holding your very own Jamie Bamber or Tricia Helfer in the palm of your hand.

If you want to pick up your own Battlestar Galactica action figure, head on over to DiamondSelectToys.com.  Each figure sells for the price of $15.99.
