As 2009 ends, there’s bound to be a number of people who have gotten their fair share of fame this year, for a number of reasons.  Barbara Walters has listed ten of them, and one Jon and Kate Plus 8 star has made the cut.  Of course, it’s not the father of eight.

Kate Gosselin will be appearing on the annual show this Wednesday, ready to discuss even more of her experiences as a reality TV star and mother.  With Barbara Walters controlling the interview, we can bet the public’s going to eat up whatever details the Jon and Kate Plus 8 matriarch is going to divulge.

Given Kate Gosselin’s status with tabloids, fans of her show and even critics, her appearance on Barbara Walter’s Most Fascinating People of 2009 is surely going to cause some buzz.  Whether more controversy comes her way or not, the spotlight will never shut down on this mom of eight.

While most audiences may question why Kate Gosselin is considered fascinating, we really have little say in who goes in Barbara Walters list.  Whether the Jon and Kate Plus 8 star is hated or loved, she’s still someone whose name is on the tip of everyone’s tongue.  Sitting down for an interview once more will certainly draw in more viewers, especially with the crowd featured on the upcoming prime time special.

Other than Kate Gosselin, Walters has included the following celebrities on her Most Fascinating list.  Hardly any of them needs introductions.  There’s Sarah Palin, Adam Lambert, quarterback Brett Favre, Tyler Perry, Michael Jackson’s children, Jenny Sanford, Fox News’ Glenn Beck, and Lady GaGa.

These people are supposedly fascinating because they’ve become topics of fascination, interest, and absolute controversy this year.  With that said, Kate Gosselin definitely fits in with her struggle as a mother and wife to Jon.

With Barbara Walters, she’ll be discussing her kids and projects she’s involved in, as well as her decision to continue working on TV.  The special airs on December 9 at 10pm on ET.
