Biography

The daughter of actress Kate Capshaw, Jessica Capshaw graduated with an English degree from Brown University in 2008, and later trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Capshaw made her screen debut in the 1997 film The Locusts. In 1999 she joined the cast of the short-lived ABC comedy Odd Man Out. Her breakout role came in 2002, when she joined the cast of the legal drama The Practice as Jamie Stringer; she stayed until 2004.

The later took recurring roles in Bones and The L Word before joining the cast of another ABC series, Grey’s Anatomy. She joined the fifth season as quirky Arizona Robbins; the character got positive reaction from fans and her original three-episode run led to a regular slot.
