Ten seasons and no long term relationships or marriages later, you’d think The Bachelor would learn something and change things up.  They’re not ones for diversity, leaning heavily towards white men and women from the south to participate in the reality dating show.  There are very few Asian or black participants and they certainly have not shown other ethnicities such as Indian or Middle Eastern.  Tonight, ABC revealed their newest bachelor during the commercials for Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann.  We’ve still got a charming white guy with blue eyes but hey, he’s got a hot accent.  Okay ABC, I’ll bite.  America, meet Matt Grant.

Matt goes down in Bachelor history before the 11th season even kicks off.  He is the show’s first international bachelor, hailing from London.  The 27 year old global financier works with millionaires every day of his life but would trade it all to find a woman to settle down with.  Like other Bachelors before him, Matt is looking to get married and start a family as soon as possible.  He says that his ideal woman is adventurous, outgoing, and fun.  Good news for the women who will be fighting for him this season – Matt loves American women!

Matt is the youngest of five brothers, all of whom has gotten married and started families.  He is extremely close to his family and says his life revolves around them.  His parents have been together for 30 years and still have a romantic relationship.  His mom and dad call each other their best friends.  Matt has learned a lot from his father, Tony, now 71, about how to maintain a healthy, romantic relationship.

The newest Bachelor is not only good looking but athletic and intelligent.  He received his B.A. in modern history and politics from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge where he was the captain of the university rowing team.  He also skis and plays cricket and tennis.  Two of his favorite hobbies are working out and keeping up with current events.

That’s your first sneak peek at Matt Grant, The Bachelor for season 11.  He’ll meet the 25 women, one of whom could potentially be his wife, when the show returns on Monday, March 17th.
