Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez and the rest of the gang will soon make their way to the big screen as Disney presents High School Musical 3: Senior Year. But while the next installment of the popular Disney franchise isn't due in theaters until October 24, here's a teaser photo that will hopefully ease the long wait.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year, for those who are not familiar, will feature Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), now high school seniors, as they face the prospect of being separated from each other when they go off in different directions after graduating from East High School. They will also be joined by the rest of the Wildcats, including Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel), Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu), Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman), and others, as they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes, and fears about the future.

High School Musical sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have had to spend a little time away from each other as the holiday weekend approaches. Hudgens is out promoting her new album, Identified, which hit stores yesterday. Her first video from the album, “Sneaknight”, premiered on The Disney Channel last month. This week, she made appearances in New York City on Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, and MTV’s TRL. Yesterday, she hit Chelsea Piers for a promotional photo shoot. Whenever she encountered a reporter, she was more than happy to talk music and High School Musical 3, but not boyfriend Zac Efron.

Last week, High School Musical fans jumped to the defense of star Zac Efron when Star magazine attacked his personal hygiene. According to the gossip mag, a source on the High School Musical 3 set said that Zac was not a fan of showering, which made him pretty gross. "When he gets lazy, he likes to clean himself with baby wipes,” the insider revealed. Efron probably didn't have to worry that anyone would believe the story since friends and fans alike know how much time he puts into making sure he looks good. The story claimed that Zac's odor was putting a strain on his relationship with Vanessa Hudgens but this week, she sat down with Newsweek and strongly denied the rumors as well as opened up about those closest to her.

Last night, ABC aired a special showing of the Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock, as part of their Wonderful World of Disney series. After the movie aired, The Jonas Brothers hosted a 30-minute special entitled “Disney Rocks The Summer”. Kevin, Nick, and Joe gave viewers a sneak peek of what they can expect this summer from The Cheetah Girls: One World to the making of “Burnin’ Up”, the new Jonas Brothers video, to an extra long preview of High School Musical: Get In The Picture!

Zac Efron is certainly a heartthrob by any girl’s standards. He always plays the good looking, popular guy at school, i.e. Troy Bolton or Link Larkin. He picked up the 2007 Teen Choice Award for Choice Male Hottie. He can’t seem to walk two feet in public without hearing screams from his female fans. Yet, Star magazine paints a different picture of this guy that anyone would be lucky to get their hands on. Apparently, the High School Musical star has a bad habit that may turn the female population and may even be putting a strai on his relationship with Vanessa Hudgens.

It should come as no surprise that Forbes magazine named Oprah Winfrey its most powerful celebrity. After all, last year, she banked an unbelievable $275 million. Though ratings for her talk show have slowly declined, Oprah is smart enough to pursue other business ventures to ensure her success. Next year, she'll unveil The Oprah Winfrey Network, which is partnered with Discovery Communications. She has a 3 year, $55 million deal with XM Radio and her Harpo production company is responsible for the success of The Dr. Phil Show and The Rachael Ray Show. Tiger Woods, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce Knowles, and David Beckham rounded out the top 5. This year, tweens made a strong showing on the list, especially those that hail from The Disney Channel.

For the most part, life has been good for Ashley Tisdale since hitting it big. She has starred on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and, most notably, has played Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical movies. She has released an album and performed on the DisneyMania soundtracks. Coming up, she’ll receive top billing in several movie projects, developed especially for her. However, fame often comes with a price and Tisdale has been the subject of tabloid gossip from her plastic surgery to her relationships. Recently, the harshest story has hit the internet, with rumors flying that Tisdale was suffering from a very serious illness.

For those of you that are excited by the news that High School Musical will return for a 4th movie, you better get used to a new class at East High. The current gang plans to move out and move on after they graduate in the upcoming High School Musical 3, set for an October release date in movie theaters nationwide. Star Zac Efron is looking forward to the latest movie tell People magazine, “It's our senior year, so we've got graduation and prom to look forward to. All fun things to have in a movie.” He also told MTV that this film would be his last, and that many of his costars share his sentiment.
