CBS Announces Fall Premiere Dates

June 24, 2009

Today CBS announced when its fall shows will premiere, and many of the dates are easy to remember because CBS is essentially launching all of its shows in a single week.  From Monday, September 21 to Sunday, September 27, CBS will premiere all but two of its shows.

Those exceptions include the newest season of Survivor, which premieres one week early to allow a two-hour premiere on Thursday. September 17, and the series premiere of Three Rivers starring Moonlight's Alex O'Loughlin which comes Sunday, October 4, one week late to allow The Amazing Race to have a two-hour premiere.

Continuing in this exciting week of Fall schedules, CBS revealed its lineup today, and while many shows remain fixed, there are some big moves.  The Mentalist, this past season's top new show, will get the coveted post-CSI timeslot Thursdays at 10pm.

And one day after NBC officially cancelled Medium, CBS scooped it up and Patricia Arquette will now see ghosts right after Jennifer Love Hewitt does the same thing on Ghost Whisperer.

The Big Bang Theory: Preview of Season Finale "The Monopolar Expedition"

May 11, 2009

On tonight's The Big Bang Theory season finale, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) is understandably conflicted when Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and his friends decide to spend the summer working - at the North Pole.

This, of course, follows what happened in the last episode of the geeky CBS comedy when Leonard found out that Penny said his name while making out with Stuart, his friend from the comic book store, whom she went out on date with.  Leonard gave Stuart advice on dating Penny, telling him to take it slow, act distant, and maybe throw in a little fear.  It all worked apparently, and when the two were on his car making out, everything was fine until she blurted out Leonard's name in the middle of the tryst.

Chuck Lorre Expounds on 'The Big Bang Theory'

May 5, 2009

One of the breakout successes of comedy these days is Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady's The Big Bang Theory, and it's no surprise.  During this year's Paley Festival, the cast and the creators discussed the origins of the series, as well as its future.  As it nears its sophomore season finale, the CBS hit is gaining more and more fame with every episode.  However, it didn't start out so easily.

"We shot a pilot that was not picked up and Kaley and Simon and Kunal were not in that pilot," executive producer Chuck Lorre said.  "Their characters really were not, we hadn't written anything like that.  The girl who moves in next door to Leonard and Sheldon was a very hard partying, kind of toxic, crazy, kind of dangerous character."

Grey's Anatomy: What's Up with the Mystery Guest Role?

April 24, 2009

Last week, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reported that Kaley Cuoco, who plays lead female character Penny on The Big Bang Theory, will be gracing Grey's Anatomy for its fifth season finale. This was supposed to mark the latest season finale casting news for the medical drama following the casting of Debra Mooney (Everwood) and Liza Weil (Gilmore Girls, The West Wing), who have signed on to respectively play the mother of Kevin McKidd's emotionally plagued character Owen and a cancer patient who crosses paths with Izzie (Katherine Heigl). But as it turns out, Cuoco won't be appearing on Grey's Anatomy after all. Now, there's a rumor going on about CBS seemingly derailing Cuoco's guest gig, as well as the mystery role that has now been offered to actress Shannon Lucio.
