Born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee, the daughter of country artist Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife, Leticia, grew up in the family of performers. Her nickname "Miley" was given to her by her father because she kept on smiling as a child. Cyrus has two elder half-brothers, an elder half-sister, a younger brother and sister.
At the age of nine, Cyrus broke into the acting business when her family briefly lived to Toronto, Canada. She first appeared on Billy Ray Cyrus' television show, Doc, where she played a young girl named Kylie. When she was just eleven years old, she auditioned for various lead and supporting roles with Disney Channel. However, the executives thought she was too small, telling her to come back when she was older. Her persistence impressed the executives, and they called her back as soon as she turned 12. Cyrus was soon chosen for the Hannah Montana production because of her energetic and live performance. They said she seemed to be a kid who have a zest for life, and likened her to be a cross between Hilary Duff and Shania Twain. In addition, Disney also cast her own father, Billy Ray Cyrus to play her on-screen dad. Since then, Cyrus has garnered worldwide success with her hit television series, Hannah Montana, where she plays Miley Stewart, an ordinary girl turned rock star. Her alter ego, Hannah Montana, is a performer by night, while Miley is just a high school student by day.
Cyrus has garnered quite a few awards in 2007, as she was able to pick up the Choice Summer Artist and Choice TV Actress for Comedy in the Teen Choice Awards. She also received the Poptastic Queen Award from Popstar Magazine and the Favorite TV Actress Award from Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
Aside from acting, the young performer also sings and has recorded two albums to date, the first being a soundtrack for Hannah Montana and the second, which was released in June 2007, is a double album entitled Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, which debuted her personal music style. 2007 also brought her more projects to work on as she launched her tour which took her to over fifty destinations across America.
The next year, she released her own album, titled Breakout, which debuted at #1on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with a first week sales of about 371,000 copies. Later in 2008, she hosted the CMT Music Awards with her father. She has also risen to fame for her work in the animated Disney movie Bolt, and gained further attention for 2009’s Hannah Montana: The Movie.
She now sleeps on a mountain of $100 bills, dreaming that one day, she will look half as pretty as Selena Gomez.

Though the pictures were seen as "disgusting" Miley believes it was a work of art. Even when these pictures appeared her popularity stayed the same. But they were pretty gross...
