Named after the jazz singer and pianist Nat King Cole, Cole Mitchell Sprouse was born 15 minutes after his twin brother, Dylan Thomas, on August 4, 1992 in Arezzo, Italy to American parents Matthew Sprouse and Melanie Wright. Four months after his birth, the family moved to the United States, where he was raised in Long Beach, California. In 1997, his parents divorced.
Sprouse's grandmother, drama teacher and actress Jonine Booth Wright convinced his parents to immerse him and his brother in acting at an early age. The twins' first television appearance was in a commercial for toilet paper, and in 1993, the twins shared their first television role, Patrick Kelly in the series Grace Under Fire. In 1999, they again shared a role for their first film appearance in Big Daddy. Their other appearances include I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and Just for Kicks.
Their Official Website is www.sprousebros.com.
In 2005, the Sprouse brothers launched their first ever Disney series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, where Dylan played Zack and Cole played Cody. This eventually became The Suite Life on Deck. Their participation also led them to various other projects with Disney Channel, including their participation with the Disney Channel Games in 2006 and 2007.
Aside from acting, Cole Sprouse and his brother, Dylan have been working on entrepreneurial projects with companies such as Dualstar Entertainment, Leisure Publishing LLC and Simon & Schuster Inc. The twins created a brand named Sprouse Bros., and have been promoting their products to their respective target consumers. They have also pursued their college education, with Cole studying film and television production.
The Suite Life is my favorite project so far! Everyone is nice and the cast is like family.
I love to have a twin cause you always have someone to talk to when you are lonely. You kind of have someone to share your feelings with, without talking out loud
[about their goal] "Dylan and I have talked about it quite a lot. We both agree that we want to get our star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."
We both keep a journal, we write every day. I started first and then I convinced Dylan to start his.
Every kid who has a brother or a sister has to deal with sibling rivalry.
Having our own magazine gives us the opportunity to help kids discover their interests and spotlight the best of everything from new movies and CDs to young athletes we think are amazing!
Dylan is cool. He's relaxed. He really enjoys getting into something like collecting, and once he has a goal, he will go for it.
Every single day, Dylan always mentions that he is fifteen minutes older than me and considers that just because he is older, it means that he is the boss.
We have a great manager, his name is John. He totally looks out for us and points us in the right direction. We went out for [the movie] Big Daddy and we got it.
When I think about our careers, I don't really look at it as fame and fortune, I look at it as fun. I'd rather have a good time on set, have fun and mess around. And I love fans.
