'90210' Actor Luke Perry Talks About His New Film

Luke Perry hasn't been that visible on TV these days but that doesn't mean that the former Beverly Hills 90210 actor is no longer active in the silver screen. In fact, he has several movies that are slated to air this year, including the western flick Angel and the Badman, the action-horror film Final Storm and Sam Steele and the Junior Detective Agency, which he is currently filming.

Written and directed by Tom Whitus, Sam Steele and the Junior Detective Agency follows13-year-old Sam Steele Jr. (Jacob Hays) as he forms his own private detective agency to emulate his father, Des Moines detective Sam Steele, and helps track down a burglar, portrayed by the 90210 actor.

Jason Priestley Guest Stars on 'My Name is Earl'

It seems that Jason Priestley will be playing Brandon after all.  But it's not on the spin-off series spawned from the original teen drama that catapulted him to fame in the early 1990s.  At present, the 39-year-old actor is keeping himself behind the camera as the director of an episode of 90210.  Nevertheless, he hasn't denied himself playing Brandon all together.  According to Access Hollywood, the Beverly Hills 90210 alum will be making a guest appearance on NBC's My Name Is Earl.

Best known as the virtuous Brandon Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210, Priestley will portray Brandon, Earl's (Jason Lee) more successful and attractive cousin, who we first meet in a flashback to Earl and Joy's first wedding anniversary.  On that memorable day, viewers will learn, Earl discovered that prior to his marriage, Joy had a steamy affair with his cousin.

SOAPnet to Air 24-Hour Marathon of 'Beverly Hills 90210'

In anticipation of the premiere of 90210 on September 2 on The CW, SOAPnet has decided to air a 24-hour marathon of the original drama Beverly Hills 90210 on Monday, September 1.  The marathon will kick off at midnight and run through the entire day, featuring 24 pivotal episodes of the long-running prime time drama series created by Darren Star and produced by Aaron Spelling.

Beverly Hills 90210, for those who are not familiar, ran from October 4, 1990 to May 17, 2000 on FOX. The series followed the lives of a group of teenagers living in the upscale, start-studded community of Beverly Hills, California and attending the fictitious West Beverly Hills High School and then-fictitious California University.  The show also addressed several topical issues like date rape, alcoholism, domestic violence, gay rights, drug abuse, teenage suicide, AIDS, and teenage pregnancy.

Luke Perry Starring on 'Law & Order: SVU' Season Premiere

After his recent stints on the short-lived NBC series Windfall and the HBO drama John from Cincinnati, guess where Luke Perry lands next?  Entertainment Weekly reports that he has been spotted in New York City shooting an episode for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, whose 10th season premieres on September 23.  And he's not just appearing in any episode; he's starring in the season premiere, which also features guest stints from Sara Gilbert and Julie Bowen.

Sources reveal that the episode's plot will revolve around a couple (Perry and Bowen) who stand accused of abusing their foster child.  Gilbert plays the child's biological mother.

Live from the TCA Press Tour: Shannen Doherty Returns to '90210'

The 90210 panel at the TCA press tour was full of surprises and information. Creator Gabe Sachs announced right away that the rumors are true and Shannen Doherty will be appearing on the new show, guest starring as a special drama teacher who will direct the high school's musical. Additionally, 90210 will premiere on September 2 with a two-hour pilot.

Doherty joins fellow Beverly Hills 90210 alumni Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling as the three confirmed returning stars, though fans will also get the return of the new and improved Peach Pit, still owned by Nat (Joe E. Tata). Though the producers refused to address specifics about what's happened to those characters, they promised that the roles will be recurring and not just random special cameos.

Luke Perry: No to '90210' Without Aaron Spelling

After rumors circulated that virtually everyone from the original cast of Beverly Hills 90210, such as Jason Priestly, Shannen Doherty, and Tori Spelling, might be reprising their roles in the 90s series, Luke Perry, for his part, refuses to be part of the revival party.

In an interview with TV Guide, while promoting Hallmark Channel's A Gunfighter's Pledge, said while he is not surprised that Doherty is returning to the zip code, he is not very keen on accepting any offers, should they come.
