Previously on Beauty and the Geek, the beauties and the geeks hit the road for a winter vacation at Big Bear. Kristina and Jason nearly won the sledding challenge, but in the end, they were the ones who were sent home.
The four teams remaining are Joe and Tara, Chris and Cara, Tommy and Amanda, and Matt and Leticia. They arrive back at the Beauty and the Geek mansion after their trip. Everyone registers varying degrees of shock and happiness to be in the final four. The teams decide to give Jason a Viking funeral. C'mon, people, he didn't die!

What's the difference between a Taylor series and Beauty and the Geek? Beauty and the Geek is finite. Geddit? Geddit?
With only four teams left in the game on Beauty and the Geek, this fifth season is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, May 13. However, this episode will likely turn out to be the series finale. Sources close to the show's production staff confirm that the CW bigwigs have decided not to renew Beauty and the Geek for a sixth season.
CW executives say that they may reconsider bringing the show back if the producers can come up with a unique twist on the show's geeky guys/beautiful girls format. One possibility that they have discussed is incorporating an age-related element to the show

Kristina and Jason were the fifth team to be eliminated this season on Beauty and the Geek. It seemed like these two were going to breeze through their sledding challenge last night because they had built up such a big lead over everyone else. Unfortunately, their coefficient of friction was their biggest nemesis, and Tommy and Amanda were able to sail past them for the win.
Kristina and Jason spoke to BuddyTV today, and boy, did they have a lot to say! They weighed in on whether they thought Tommy was a "real geek" or not, they hinted about lots of bed-hopping going on behind the scenes, and they shared what they learned from their time on Beauty and the Geek. Below, you will find an audiofile and a complete transcript of the interview.

Previously on Beauty and the Geek, Joe and Randi got into the wildest fight in Beauty and the Geek history, ending in unexpected expectoration. Randi and Greg faced and lost against Joe and Tara in the elimination, and now there are only five teams remaining!
Tonight's episode begins as usual with the rest of the gang waiting to see which team emerges from the elimination room. It looks like everyone except for Jason is disappointed to see that Randi and Greg have gone home. (Kristina, in particular, is bummed because she thinks Tara and Joe are a team of Debbie Downers. Ha! I love Rachel Dratch.) Mike Richards arrives and makes the exciting announcement that they will all be headed to Big Bear the next day. Everyone is excited except for Chris, who really can't get it up for Big Bear. He doesn't have the same olation [sic] as everyone else.

Before this season of Beauty and the Geek started, I made completely arbitrary Power Rankings of all the beauties and the geeks. Although they were completely superficial judgments, based only on each contestant's publicity photo and his or her tagline, it might be a worthwhile exercise to revisit my list to see how good my predictions were, especially since I've been told by more than one of the actual contestants that I was way off the mark.
Before I get to that, let me explain the thought process I had while ranking everyone. There were two different approaches I could have used: 1) rank people based on who I think will win, or 2) rank people based on who I most want to win. In hindsight, although I probably should have done option 1, I really ended up doing option 2.

We've reach the half-way point of season 5 of Beauty and the Geek, so tonight, instead of a regular episode, we've got "Extra Special: Beauty and the Geek Special." Four beauties and four geeks have fallen by the wayside, and there are only five more teams to go. Tonight, we get an hour of never-before-seen footage from the first six episode of the season. Clunky title, notwithstanding, I am actually looking forward to this clip show, even though I usually hate them, because we are promised a geek makeover for one Jim, who got eliminated too soon.
As expected, there was a lot that we had already seen, but here are some features from tonight's extra special episode that we haven't seen before.
