Supernatural fans can now get a dose of their favorite show outside of the small screen, thanks to the new Official
Supernatural Magazine. The first issue of the publication will go on sale today, November 27.
“This publication is for you and you alone. And we're working hard to make it worthy of your affection,” show creator Eric Kripke said in a press release. “There's dozens upon dozens of artists and geniuses who care so much about
Supernatural, who make it the show that it is. Starting with this issue, you'll get to know them."
The magazine, which is being launched under the Titan Publishing Group banner, features exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, as well as some artwork made especially for fans of the show.
In his interview with the magazine, Kripke discusses the history of
Supernatural, revealing how a tabloid reporter actually played a part in the show's conception. He also shares some “tantalizing secrets” about what fans can look forward to in the future.
Latest cast addition
Katie Cassidy is also featured in the premiere issue. In her interview, the 21-year-old actress sheds some light on her mysterious new character, Ruby.
Fans of Alona Tal, who played Jo Harvelle during the second season of
Supernatural, will want to
pick up this issue of the magazine, as the actress has an interview in it as well.
Of course, what would a
Supernatural magazine be without a special spread on the Winchester boys, played by
Jared Padalecki and
Jensen Ackles. In their interview, the show stars talk about their characters' encounters with the dark side, as well as reveal how they were “born to play” the demon-hunting brothers.
The maiden issue of the
Supernatural magazine also contains an interview with special effects supervisor Randy Shymkiw, as well as some exclusive extras, including a "Director's Cut" segment with executive producer Kim Manners, a look at Sam and Dean's journey so far, special posters and a survey that gives readers a chance to win a
Supernatural goodie bag.
