In just a few short weeks, One Tree Hill returns for its ninth and final season and what better way to celebrate than to give this show some love and attention. This holiday, we’ve decided to put the spotlight on the cast by digging up a these fun facts. Enjoy!

‘One Tree Hill’ Final Season Preview: Heaven or Hell? 


Fact #1: Sophia Bush loves her One Tree Hill men.

What you may not know: Aside from Sophia Bush‘s current boyfriend Austin Nichols, who plays her on-screen husband Julian, she dated co-star James Lafferty (Nathan Scott). This was confirmed by former co-star Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) whom she also dated for almost two years, married and divorced after five months of marriage. 

Fact #2: Jackson Brundage is the only cast member who got promoted to regular status without having first appeared on the show as a guest star. 

What you may not know: Aside from playing Nathan and Haley’s son, Jamie, on One Tree Hill, he played the younger version of Josh Duhamel’s Danny McCoy in an episode of Las Vegas. He also appeared in NCIS and voiced the character Pablo in Einsten Pals.

Fact #3: Life imitates art for some of One Tree Hill‘s cast members.

What you may not know: Several storylines on the show have turned into reality – Bethany Joy Galeotti and Tyler Hilton went on tour in various parts of the United States just like their characters Haley and Chris Keller. Just like her character Mia, Kate Voegele also went on tour and sang at a concert sponsored by Starburst.

Fact #4: James Lafferty plays basketball in real life.

What you may not know: James Lafferty is actually a basketball enthusiast. He played for the Bulldogs team at Hemet High School where he earned the MVP award. He also played for the New Orleans basketball team at the 2008 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and hosted several basketball events in Wilmington. At present, he is a supporting partner of the Wilmington Sea Dawgs, which is part of the Premiere Basketball League.

Fact #5: Robert Buckley was a game show contestant.

What you may not know: While attending college, Robert Buckley appeared as a contestant on the Price is Right. Unfortunately, he didn’t win since his bid was $1 less than another contestant. Bob Barker even noted, “That wasn’t the smartest bid he could have made.”
