Set your calendar, Losties: it will all end on May 23.

As Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof teased on last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live, ABC now confirms that Lost's two-hour finale will air on May 23, a Sunday, from 9pm. Before that would be a recap show, from 8pm.

"We are eternally grateful to [ABC Entertainment Group president Steve McPherson] for allowing us to end the show on our own terms," Lindelof said in the interview.

It's interesting to see that the show's finale--the conclusion to five years and 121 hours of crazy goodness--will air on a Sunday. It could be that Lost is trying to avoid strong competition from American Idol: the finale of the talent show's ninth season is expected to air in the same week as Lost's last episode.

But if we can read a lot more into the finale date, it's got the number 23 on it. Could there be hints in that?
