Lost: Quick Takes on Dogen's Past, Michael's Redemption and Shannon's Return
It's an unusual day in the Lost world today, as a handful of details in future episodes were revealed. There are spoilers after the cut, but they're pretty good ones: about Dogen's past, about Michael's return, and about Boone's possible role when Shannon returns.

Next week, we'll learn more about Dogen. In an interview with TV Guide Magazine, Hiroyuki Sanada revealed that we'll learn more about his pre-Island past in next week's Lost. He also mentions that he'll appear in Jack's flash-sideways (tomorrow night, presumably) and that could connect with events in the Temple.

And he's hinting a lot about peace: he says there's a relevance to the name of his translator, Lennon (John Hawkes), and his outfit, resembling that of a monk who introduced Zen philosophy in Japan. "I believe Dogen and Sayid will experience some kind of friendship in the end," he said. "Temples are built for peace and saving people."

Michael does get to apologize to Libby. "I did get to apologize," Harold Perrineau told TVGuide.com. "Every time I did it, it was really emotional. There was something really nice about it. It's not just apologizing to her, but to Hurley as well."

"When we did the rehearsal for it, I found myself getting way more emotional than I thought I was going to," Jorge Garcia added.

So, yes, when both Perrineau and Cynthia Watros return to Lost later in the season, there'll be an apology after Michael killed Libby to help Ben escape. But, while both characters are dead, they won't be mere apparitions, Smoke Monster-style. "I'm totally the ghost of Michael," he said. Garcia added that Libby isn't the Man in Black, either. Then again, he's trapped in Locke's form...

Boone will be back. Again. Finally, E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos revealed that Ian Somerhalder will return to Lost later in the season, perhaps to tie in with Maggie Grace's return. I'll guess Shannon will change her mind and leave her abusive lover in Sydney in the parallel universe?
