Lalaine Paras


Filipino-American singer and actress Lalaine Paras was born on June 3, 1987 in Burbank, California. The youngest of four children, she is usually credited only by her first name, and she currently resides in Los Angeles. Her parents were originally from the Philippines before emigrating to the United States. Her acting career began with the roles of Eponine and Young Cosette in the Broadway classic Les Miserables. Paras has also worked on a number of other television and film productions, such as Royal Kill, Inspector Gadget, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lolita, and All That. She has also worked with Radio Disney, and released her own independent album Lalaine: Inside Story.

Miranda Sanchez is played by Lalaine Paras in the Disney television comedy series Lizzie McGuire. A teenager from a Mexican family who follows all of Mexico’s celebrations and holidays, she has a slightly rebellious personality, and is one of Lizzie’s best friends. However, she also has an occasional tendency to take things too seriously and to ramble on about her woes. At one point, she suffers from anorexia. Miranda is also more judgmental on different matters than Lizzie and Gordo, though like Lizzie, she also gets crushes on numerous boys.
