Rory Cochrane isn’t the only actor gracing the show when  CSI: Miami returns this September.  Also slated to appear on season six is Jessica Szohr, the newest addition to Horatio’s forensic team.

According to TV Guide, Szohr will play a young and feisty Audio Visual Tech Specialist named Samantha Barrish.  Since not much has been revealed about her character plot, fans will just have to wait and see how this player will spice up the new season.

Szohr, a 22-year-old actress, is known for playing Laura on the drama series What About Brian. She has appeared on several television series, which includes What I Like About You, That’s So Raven and Joan of Arcadia.  She has also portrayed minor roles in few movie projects like House at the End of the Drive and Uncle Nino.

Meanwhile, the return of CSI: Miami also entails the release of the highly anticipated season five DVD.  According to Paramount Home Entertainment, fans can finally grab a copy of the DVD on Tuesday, October 30.

The official studio description reads:

“Join lead criminalist Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and his state-of-the-art forensics team as they investigate hot and steamy Miami crimes using cold hard facts.  The CSI: Miami Season 5 Complete DVD Collection features 24 episodes of riveting and shocking mysteries.  The evidence leads into seedy nightclubs, privileged suburbs and explosive family secrets.  The stakes are higher than ever before, because this time it’s personal.”

On the other hand, the scheduled release is just slated for region one, which includes U.S. territories and Canada.  The DVD release for region two, which includes other major countries, have followed a particular pattern in which each season is progressively released in two parts, each half having a special feature split up before finally being sold as a single boxed set.  As of the moment, there is no word yet on release dates for region two.
