Jericho had one of the most impassioned displays of fan support in recent memory, as supporters of the show sent in over 20 tons of peanuts to CBS to get the series renewed for a second season.  Now, all of that hard work has finally paid off as CBS has officially announced the return date for the post-apocalyptic drama.

Jericho will return to the schedule on Tuesday, February 12, at 10pm.  At this point the series has only been picked up for seven additional episodes, and it’s unknown whether CBS will decide to order any beyond that.  However, the network has said that they will happily greenlight more episodes if the ratings pick up for the series.

In any case, Jericho fans will surely be happy to have some closure to the story of a small town surviving in the aftermath of nuclear attacks.  The first season notoriously ended in a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, with the citizens of Jericho preparing to battle to defend their town.  Come February, the moment that fans rallied to see will finally occur, and the cliffhanger will be resolved.
