With the conclusion of Heroes drawing closer, we’re now left with two major plots: Samuel’s wicked end game and Sylar’s quest for normalcy— which are likely to traverse in tonight’s episode entitled “The Wall.”

Last time we saw Heroes, Samuel framed Noah as the person responsible for the Carnival shootout that caused Lydia’s death so he could redeem himself in the eyes of his Carnie family. Sylar, on the other hand, decided that the best way to feel like a normal person is to take away all his powers with the help of Matt Parkman, who then enclosed him with bricks in his basement.

Now that Peter has no choice but to save Sylar in order to save Emma and prevent her from killing thousands of people, he goes inside Sylar’s head and finds Sylar in what appears to be an empty New York City. Think I Am Legend but without the dog and the crazy zombies.

Sylar is going nuts for being all alone even though he has only been living his worst nightmare for three hours. Because three hours seem like three years already— which is exactly how I feel when I’m watching some of the lackluster episodes of Heroes.  Peter, on the other hand, tries his best to convince Sylar to help save Emma. The only problem is they can’t get out of Sylar’s mind. And it doesn’t help that Sylar feels he deserves to be trapped all alone in the abandoned city.

After numerous attempts to knock down the wall from Parkman’s basement with a sledgehammer, Sylar apologizes for killing Nathan while Peter still holds a grudge but realizes that Sylar is no longer that person. Then all of a sudden, the wall starts to break away, and that apparently, is what they need to break on through the other side. Unfortunately, as this odd alliance regains consciousness in Parkman’s basement, Eli awaits to make sure that they don’t save Emma.

The other part of the episode reveals some interesting stories about Noah’s past. In attempt to open Claire’s eyes and see her father for who he really is, Samuel calls in Damien so he could reveal Noah’s memories to Claire though the House of Mirrors. At this point, Heroes rewinds to 1985 and we learn that Noah used to work as a used car salesman and was married to a woman who was pregnant with his child. Evidently, his first wife was murdered by robber with telekinesis and that drove Noah to join the Company to track down his wife’s killer though he ended up killing several innocent people with abilities in the process.

Claire starts to see her father in a different, darker light but it gets worse as she also learns that his marriage with her mother Sandra was arranged by the Company, and that he tried to intimidate Gretchen into forcing Claire to live a normal life.

Upset with all her father’s lies, Claire leaves Noah in the House of Mirrors and then learns about Samuel’s plan to move the Carnival to New York City to show the world who they really are.  She also finds out that her father is in the souvenir trailer but when she finally decides to free him, Samuel sinks it in the ground. What do you think about this episode?
