'Hannah Montana: The Movie' Must Go On Without Dolly Parton
Initial stories that country music legend Dolly Parton would make an appearance on Hannah Montana: The Movie have been refuted.  Parton herself has revealed that she won't be reprising her small screen role as Aunt Dolly in the upcoming film, all because her character wasn't included in the movie's script.

“I'm not in the movie,” said the 63-year-old actress.  She was asked by Access Hollywood for a statement regarding the issue, and she continued by telling the press: “I wish I had been.  I said I would love to (be in it)!  I assumed that they were gonna be writing me a part."

There was supposed to be a walk-on role for Dolly Parton in Hannah Montana: The Movie, as rumors have stated, but the writers couldn't find her a place in the storyline.  Even so, Parton will continue to appear in the television show in the future. Dolly portrays “Aunt Dolly,” the godmother of Miley Cyrus' character in the popular Disney Channel series.  This is because of her relation to the series' star, who in real life is her goddaughter.

On Hannah Montana, the Grammy Award-winning musician made her first appearance in the episode “Good Golly, Miss Dolly” in 2006.  Her character was known for her numerous attempts to add her “special touch” to everyone's lives.  Parton became a guest star once more in 2007, in season 2's “I Will Always Loathe You.”  There, she appeared with Emmy Award-winning actress Vicki Schultz who played Aunt Dolly's rival, Mamaw.

The world of country music would be lost without Dolly Parton, whose prolific work in the industry has made her the most successful female artist in the genre.  While she garnered enough accolades for her music, she has also dabbled in film and television work.  She began with her own variety show, Dolly!, then received acclaim for her role alongside Jane Fonda in 9 to 5.

Other films of Dolly Parton's include The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone, Steel Magnolias and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.  On television, she has been seen numerous times on American Idol, and has done voice work for animated series like Alvin & the Chipmunks, The Magic School Bus, and The Simpsons.
