Only three days have passed since the death of Glee star Cory Monteith, but we now have the initial results of the autopsy, after police fast-tracked both the autopsy and the toxicology.

The results conducted by British Columbia Coroner's Office have found that he died from a "mixed drug toxicity that involved heroin, primarily, and also alcohol."

The Province of British Columbia released a YouTube video from the BC Coroners Service confirming the results. The coroner speaking went on to say, "The coroner's investigation is continuing. Mr. Monteith's family is of course aware of the circumstances of his death. ... We should also say at this point that there's absolutely nothing, at this point, no evidence to suggest this is anything other than the most sad and tragic accident."

This will be the only statement by the Coroner's Office until the investigation has come to an end. You can watch the full video below:

Cory Monteith's body was found in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver shortly after noon on Saturday, July 13. He was scheduled to check out that same day.

The tragic news of his death comes almost four months after the Glee star checked himself into rehab, for which he sought treatment for substance abuse, and left one month later. He had previously been open about his prior struggles with drug and alcohol abuse, including seeking treatment at age 19.
