Damon Wayans Jr. Returns to New Girl

Damon Wayans Jr. may have only appeared in the pilot episode of New Girl but he’s made quite an impression as Coach, a former athlete-turned-personal trainer who once lived in the apartment as Jess, Nick, and Schmidt’s roommate. Not surprisingly, he’s been tapped to return to the FOX comedy series now that ABC has officially pulled the plug on his sitcom, Happy Endings

“I would be surprised if he doesn’t come back for a while. There would be such funny episodes with the Coach seeing what’s happened in the past two years since he’s [been] gone,” Jake Johnson, who plays Nick on New Girl, told TV Line  last month.

TV Line first reported the casting while E! News confirmed the actor’s return, hinting that he’ll be appearing in at least six episodes. FOX, however, has yet to comment on news.
