'Desperate Housewives' Returning to Work, Show Star Spills on New Episodes
The cast of Desperate Housewives is getting ready to resume production on the show, according to PageSix.com.  Hours before the WGA vote was finalized and the strike declared over, show cast members met up with creator Marc Cherry with the intention of talking about the upcoming weeks' hectic production schedule.

Both the cast and crew of Desperate Housewives were present at the ABC lot in Burbank, California, where it was decided that production would take place six days each week in an effort to tie up plot lines.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Filming will reportedly commence on Monday, February 25, finally putting an end to the actors' long and strike-induced personal break.  Nevertheless, there aren't any complaints about the long work hours ahead.

"They're all very excited," a source told PageSix.com

New episodes of Desperate Housewives are expected to begin airing in April/May, several months after the show's January 7 broadcast, which was the last pre-strike episode.  Actress Brenda Strong, who, as the dearly departed Mary Alice Young, narrates in each episode, told TV Guide from the Bebe Lingerie Launch Party earlier this week that when the show returns with new episodes, a significant amount of story-time will have passed.

"A lot of storyline got dropped because of [the strike-shortened season], so we're going to consolidate it [into seven episodes]," the actress said, adding that viewers can expect to see some nonstop drama in the upcoming installments.  “It will definitely be worth watching because a lot of the juicy stuff will be jam-packed into every episode.  You don't want to miss it."

Strong also said that the new episodes will “tie up Season 4 in a nice bow,” so that the show can present fresh storylines in its recently acquired fifth season.

In the meantime, viewers can continue to catch repeats of Desperate Housewives' fourth season on ABC.
