There have been rumors for awhile now that Pia Toscano, American Idol‘s big-surprise elimination a couple of weeks ago, has been dating Dancing with the Stars‘ Mark Ballas. Despite both semi-celebrities claiming to be taking it slow, evidence has pointed to a burgeoning relationship.

Now, it’s about to go one step further: Pia Toscano will perform live on next week’s Dancing with the Stars. And Mark is scheduled to dance to her tune.

According to a report from TMZ.com, Pia has been booked for a performance during the sixth week of the current DWTS season. Most likely, this will be an appearance during Dancing with the Stars: The Results Show, when the program typically includes a bunch of musical acts to stretch out the results.

As is often the case during The Results Show, some of the Dancing with the Stars professional dancers will illustrate the music through dance. Mark Ballas hasn’t had too many of these performances so far in season 12, but of course he wouldn’t miss the chance to dance to Pia.

Reports about Mark and Pia have been circulating for more than a week. Supposedly, the two lovebirds met at the Los Angeles CBS Studios, where their respective shows are taped. Thanks to a random Cupid taking the form of Chris Jericho, Pia and Mark met and hit it off. Their dating life (or close friendship or whatever) has been the subject of blogs and tabloids ever since.

It’s possibly a bit surprising that Pia would end up on Dancing with the Stars so soon after her American Idol elimination. While the two reality shows are not in direct competition, each draws a similar audience and represents a major ratings powerhouse on their respective networks. Show crossovers just feel … kind of weird.

Pia Toscano will also appear on American Idol again, returning this Wednesday for a reunion of those rejected from the pop-star competition.

What do you think of the Pia-Mark dating relationship? Is it weird for Pia to show up on Dancing with the Stars? What could Mark do for Pia in return? Leave a comment below!
