Kirsten Vangsness stars in Criminal MindsKirsten Vangness, star of CBS' Criminal Minds, is appearing in an upcoming big screen production called In My Sleep.  The film revolves around a man who suffers from a mysterious sleeping disorder that causes him to commit acts while in deep slumber, and upon waking, has no recollection of them.

Kirsten Vangsness, who portrays audio visual technician Penelope Garcia on Criminal Minds, will appear in the film as a woman named Madge.  In My Sleep also stars Philip Winchester as Marcus, Lacey Chabert (Party of Five) as Becky, Tim Draxl as Justin, Abigail Spencer (Angela's Eyes) as Gwen, Kelly Overton as Ann, Beth Grant (Jericho) as Evelyn, Michael Badalucco (The Practice) as Derek and Tony Hale (Arrested Development) as Ben.

In My Sleep is written, co-produced and directed by Allen Wolf.  Ralph Winter is credited as an executive producer.  The film is being produced by Morning Star Pictures, in association with 7th Rig.

According to Wolf's blog on the film's official website, In My Sleep entered the post-production process last March.  By November, the production crew was busy looking for “a producers rep” for the movie, and Wolf had “submitted the movie to several top festivals where we could premiere.”

The movie has yet to be given a definite theatrical release date.

In My Sleep is not the first feature-length production Kirsten Vangsness has been involved in.  She previously appeared in the 2006 comedy-drama, A-List, co-starring Daphne Zuniga (Nip/Tuck), Joanna Garcia (Reba, Welcome to the Captain), Sam Pancake (Kitchen Confidential) and Leigh-Taylor Young (Passions).

As for her television work, Vangsness had guest roles in such shows as Disney's Phil of the Future and LAX, before landing her current stint on Criminal Minds.

On Criminal Minds, Vangsness stars alongside Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, AJ Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler and Joe Mantegna, who was added to the cast after Mandy Patinkin's unceremonious departure last year.  The show's final pre-strike episode, "3rd Life," airs tonight at 9pm on CBS.
