A Complicated Future for "Caskett"?

At the end of last season, fans (and Castle) were left wondering what Beckett's answer would be to Castle's proposal. Nathan Fillion spoke to TV Line and said he couldn't reveal what happens, but was excited by the realistic turn the "Caskett" relationship had taken.

"That's one of the things that Andrew (W. Marlowe, executive producer) has done very well, in that it's very realistic that two people who really ought to be together maybe don't see it. Or the timing isn't right," Fillion said. "These are things that happen in real life. That life gets complicated. That it can never be easy. This is something, I think, that we can all relate to. It's a truth in that everyone is comfortable with."

Will Beckett Say 'Yes' or 'No'?

In an interview with GiveMeMyRemote, Marlowe also spoke about his vision for the upcoming season and how Beckett's answers to the proposal, as well as to the job offer, will create consequences - no matter what those answers are.

"As we've gotten into breaking stories this year, we're really excited by some of the dramatic opportunities and problems Beckett's answers to the two fundamental questions [raised in the finale] have created," Marlowe said. "One question is does she accept the proposal? And the other question is she has this job opportunity in Washington D.C. - what's going to happen to that? And I know there's been a lot of attention in the press to how Beckett answers those questions, but what's more interesting to us is that each one of those answers has consequences to their relationship, and to Castle's future and Beckett's future. So what's more interesting to us rather than what she answers is what are the consequences of those answers?

"If she says yes to the proposal, there is a whole series of consequences in that relationship that are going to arise. But if she says no to the proposal, again, how is that going to affect the relationship? If she says yes to the job in D.C., it's going to fundamentally alter stuff for Beckett and Castle. And if she says no to it, is Beckett betraying who she is as a person and will she be able to live with that? We're really excited to explore the dramatic opportunities, no matter which ways the questions are answered."

Stork Advises That Baby Ryan Could Arrive in Late Fall

With all of the Caskett drama, it's nice to have one couple whose relationship is moving in a definite positive direction. Ryan and his wife are expecting a baby and, according to an interview Marlowe did with Inside TV, the little one should make his/her appearance later this year. As to how exactly the baby will arrive, Marlow said that they were "just starting to explore that." But added, "My assumption is we will get to meet the baby and that that episode will be late this fall."

TV Guide reports that the impending arrive of Ryan's bundle of joy will definitely affect the way the dad-to-be feels about his chosen occupation.

"You're going to see a lot of choices that Ryan is going to make [about] how he feels about being a cop at this point," Seamus Dever revealed. "We're going to see him be a little uncomfortable with being in the line of fire and being in danger's way. It's also going to affect his relationship with Esposito."

What does that mean for the Ryan/Esposito bromance? Sounds like theirs relationship could be in trouble, too. "They're no longer single dudes," Dever said. "Ryan is like, 'I have to go home and see the wife. That's the way it is.'"

Guest Stars Galore!

TV Guide reports that Glenn Morshower will guest-star in the second episode of this season. He will play a character named Michael Reed, a former general who will stop at nothing to protect the secrets of his past.

TV Line reports that Alicia Lagano will also do a guest turn this season as a character named Emma Briggs, a fugitive who resorts to taking several people hostage and, for unknown reasons, decides that the only person she'll negotiate with is Castle.

TVLine reports that that Joshua Bitton will guest-star in multiple episodes this season as Grant "Sully" Sullivan, a new detective who is trying to prove himself at the 12th Precinct. Could Sully be taking over for Ryan while he's on leave with his new baby?

Finally, Inside TV reports that Chuck alum Joshua Gomez is slated to play a suspect in a grisly murder. If it wasn't odd enough to find out that the man who once played the sweet and funny Morgan on Chuck was possibly a murderer, how about finding out that his character on Castle claims to be a time-traveler? Sounds like this is going to be another wacky episode.

Which bit of Castle news has you the most excited for the new season?
