A wealthy, prominent party girl, Vivian Bowers, is found dead of an apparent overdose, but could it be murder? In Deception, her childhood best friend, San Francisco Police Department Detective Joanna Padget (Meagan Good, Think Like a Man), gets recruited to investigate her friend’s death. Joanna finds a web of mystery surrounding the Bowers family and their business.

The series premiere opens with Vivian (Bree Williamson, Haven) walking down the street and from that moment forward the clues to her death continually present themselves. As is often the case in life, things are not always what they appear to be.

Did Vivian die from a drug overdose? Or, did someone kill her? Joanna finds out shocking information about her friend’s past that sheds light on why their friendship became estranged. The detective moves into the Bowers home and becomes more and more ensconced with the family.

Will she be able to maintain her objectivity? Her former SFPD partner and current FBI agent Will Moreno (Laz Alonso, Avatar) recruited her for the undercover investigation and maintains a close watch over her.

Over the first three episodes, the good and the bad sides of the Bowers family members will begin to be revealed. They all have their faults, but is one of them a killer? Just as you begin to trust someone, a secret is revealed that will make you question everything.

Deception may not premiere until January, but why wait? You can watch the full pilot episode online now below.
