The strange world of the FX drama American Horror Story is about to get a bit weirder with its latest addition. According to EW, The Voice coach and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is in final talks to appear in the show’s second season, scheduled to premiere this fall.
EW reports that Levine would play one half of a couple called “The Lovers” in season 2 of American Horror Story, which will take place at a horror institution on the east coast.
As with all of the show’s season 2 characters, details are murky on what it all means. American Horror Story has several cast members returning for season 2, though none of them will be playing the same roles. Thus far, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe are scheduled to return.
The role would mark Levine’s acting debut, though he appeared as himself in an episode of NBC’s 30 Rock.
American Horror Story is created by Glee’s Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Levine’s music has been used several times on Glee. The show has covered Maroon 5’s “Misery” in season 2 and “Moves Like Jagger” in season 3, and “Stereo Hearts,” a Gym Class Heroes song that featured Levine.
Are you excited for American Horror Story season 2? Does the casting of Adam Levine make you more or less likely to watch?
