Trouble is coming to Mystic Falls in the second half of season 7 of The Vampire Diaries. Alaric and Caroline
In the first half of season 7, we’ve seen a pretty major focus on Caroline’s pregnancy with Alaric’s children. In the second half of the season, fans can expect to see the two grow even closer as they prepare for the children’s birth and develop their love. It won’t all be peachy however, as Caroline struggles to remove herself from her past relationship with Stefan. To add fuel to the fire, Caroline gets concerned when she discovers what Alaric has planned for her babies.
Enzo’s Side of Things
As we already know, a girl named Alex from Enzo’s past will soon make a reappearance. There are no details about whether her character’s presence will benefit or be detrimental for Enzo, but we will get to see things from his perspective. The first few episodes after The Vampire Diaries returns will be shown through Enzo’s eyes, says Christian Post. Enzo will show viewers a new world as he attempts to acclimate to his new environment, which includes Alex’s presence. “As [Enzo]’s trying to find his place in the world, [Alex] comes in and says, ‘Let me help you out with that,'” says executive producer Caroline Dries. “Is she good? Is she bad? What’s her bigger agenda? We’ll pull back her layers as the season goes on.”

Tyler Lockwood Is Back
Good news, Tyler fans. TVLine has reported that Michael Trevino will reprise his role as Tyler Lockwood and return to Mystic Falls in the February 5 episode, “Things We Lost in the Fire.” What brings him back to town, you ask? According to the episode’s description, “Tyler returns to town for Alaric’s baby shower and Caroline makes an upsetting discovery involving Alaric and his future plan for the babies.”
The Vampire Diaries season 7 returns Friday, January 29 at 8pm on The CW.
