It’s good to be The Good Wife. After receiving nine Emmy nominations for its first season The Good Wife is gearing up for season 2 with a trio of very exciting new actors.

According to EW’s Michael Ausiello, Tammy Blanchard, Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter, FlashForward‘s Michael Ealy are all joining the cast of The Good Wife for season 2.

Blanchard, an Emmy winner for the TV movie Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadow, will play a lawyer working for Glen Childs, the State’s Attorney. She’ll be helping Cary (Matt Czuchry) settle into his new job.

Ealy joins the cast as Derrick Bond, the man in charge of a Washington D.C. law firm that’s merging with Lockhart-Gardener in season 2. Unlike their old partner, wild man Jonas Stern, Bond is more relaxed and focused.

Porter will play Blake, the private eye for Bond’s D.C. firm. In other words, he’s their Kalinda (Emmy nominee Archie Panjabi), which should offer plenty of conflict and potential sexual chemistry between the competing private dicks.

With three terrific actors, The Good Wife season 2 has the potential to build the show into a giant hit.
