Thanks to a meta who can shrink things — plus a new superpower in the group — everyone in The Flash has a chance to screw up in “Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash.” Which character makes the biggest mistakes?

Barry

Someone — other than the apparently evil warden — should really explain to Barry what it means to be in prison. Our titular hero does not seem to get it, and his mistakes throughout “Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash” prove that.

The biggest screw-ups in the episode center on Barry’s friendship with Big Sir. Naturally, the gentle giant is innocent, and Barry wastes no time in trying to secure Big Sir’s release. But this sort of activity is problematic at best and does not work out quite how Barry envisioned it.

At least Big Sir does get his remote hideaway in the end — even if Barry does leave him in the cold Chinese rain without a jacket.

Alas, this is not the only screw-up of the episode for Barry Allen. Despite many warnings, Barry just cannot remember that he is surrounded by monsters. This group turns out to include the warden. Barry fails to avoid a hidden camera while using his powers (after eating the always dangerous pudding) and is exposed. It is not looking good for him as the episode ends.

Cecile

While Cecile makes no major mistakes (like failing to adequately defend a client) in this episode, her new mind-reading superpower creates a whole host of smaller screw-ups. She cannot stop talking about everyone’s thoughts, for one thing, which sort of annoys all those around her. This is even more of a problem when it comes to her relationship with Joe: Knowing a lover’s every passing thought is a bit of a fight generator. Cecile’s initial attempts to fix this through therapy and subjecting Iris to TMI do not help much either.

Finally, Cecile does not know how to use semi-colons; the potential for screw-ups here is incredible.

Joe, Ralph and Cisco

Yes, there is some urgency in tracking down the incredible shrinking meta, but is it really the best idea to just wander into the guy’s apartment? No wonder the boys get shrunk!

Iris

Iris does pretty well throughout the episode, with one important exception: She steps on Ralph after he has been miniaturized. Fortunately, Ralph can handle the occasional squish.

Central City’s Mayor

The former mayor of Central City is in jail, playing cards with Barry. As for the new mayor, she is not having a much better time. Right when she tells the press how no one will break into a new building, it disappears. Terrible timing!

Harry

It is Harry who saves the day in the end, but that comes well after he nearly kills his teammate. An embiggening gun is a good idea, if it were not for the whole exploding-cell issue. That almost ends very, very badly.
