This week’s episode of The Biggest Loser left viewers with a heavy heart as O’Neal Hampton and daughter Sunshine found themselves below the yellow line after their adventure in Texas, where they participated in a 5k run and a Longhorn challenge. It was painful to see either of them go but the remaining contestants had to make a difficult decision of whether to vote for a father, who obviously still has a long way to go in his weight loss journey, and a daughter, who has proven herself worthy of staying in the game.

But O’Neal made it easier for everyone by giving himself up and requesting the players not to cast a single vote for her daughter. Ashley, Sam and Koli all respected O’Neal’s wishes and voted him off the game as Sunshine, who obviously feels guilty by staying in ranch, poured her heart out and told her father thank you and that she loves him.

While it’s disheartening to dwell on this week’s elimination on The Biggest Loser, it’s also comforting to know that O’Neal is continuing his weigh loss mission at home. After all, he’s developed the will and the right attitude to lose weight even when the cameras are not rolling.

Now O’Neal, who started at 389 pounds, is down to 250 pounds–which means he has already lost 139 pounds. The best part of it, though, is that his wife can now get her arms around him while riding his motorcycle.
