When we last left the contestants on The Biggest Loser, host Alison Sweeney surprised them with the news that they’re going on a road trip to The Grand Canyon.  Everyone is hoping for a nice, fun, relaxing vacation but this is The Biggest Loser we’re talking about.  The bus they’re riding in is pulled over by an RV, containing Alison Sweeney, who lets them know that most of them will be camping out tonight.  However, two contestants will get to sleep in that luxury RV if they win the challenge.  Alison brings everyone into a mini-mart, where they’ll have to guess how many calories are in a variety of snacks.  The team that gets three correct will win.  There’s a twist, though.  The team that guesses wrong will have to eat the snack.  Some people opt out, avoiding any temptation or the possibility of extra pounds at the weigh in, while others played on!

Heba and Ed’s gamble played off and the two ended up winning the challenge.  While the orange team sat comfortable and pretty, the other contestants took it upon themselves to work out and try to burn some calories on their own.  If these players were looking for a good workout, they got one in tonigh’ts challenge, which involved kayaking down the Colorado River.  Tonight’s winner will receive their very own RV and that’s a prize really worth playing for!  The orange team continues their winning streak, walking away with an amazing prize and establishing themselves as a serious threat in this game.

When the teams returned home to Bob and Jillian, the trainers were unhappy to find out that nobody was exactly working out and shedding the pounds out at The Grand Canyon.  For slacking off while on their little road trip, the players suffer through brutal last chance workouts.  At the weigh in, Alison drops another bomb on the contestants.  Tonight, only one family will fall below the yellow line but only one team member will go home.  Here are the numbers from tonight’s weigh in:

  • Amy and Phil: 5 + 10 = 15 pound loss (2.95%)
  • Vicky and Brady: 3 + 5 = 8 pound loss (1.51%)
  • Michelle and Renee: 3 + 6 = 9 pound loss (1.91%)
  • Heba and Ed: 6 + 10 = 16 pound loss (2.72%)
  • Amy and Shellay: 6 + 3 = 9 pound loss (2.14%)
  • Coleen and Jerry: 7 + 2 pound gain = 5 pound loss (0.89%)

Jerry tells Coleen that he’s ready to go home but doesn’t want to leave without her.  However, with his physical ailments, he feels that she needs to continue on while he works on things at home.  At the elimination ceremony, the yellow team decide that it will be Jerry who goes home.  Since leaving the show, Jerry has lost a total of 70 pounds.
