Jillian Harris has moved on to star on The Bachelorette, while Melissa Rycroft has moved on to Dancing with the Stars, where she came in third place last season, before landing a spot on the breakfast television news and talk show, Good Morning America.
They’re obviously very different but they do have something in common: both have been dumped by Jason Mesnick on The Bachelor.

With Harris and Rycroft both basking in the limelight, Mesnick believes that ABC had an agenda for him and his bachelorettes on the show.

The Examiner reports that in an interview with KISW radio for his Father’s Day Fun-athlon, which the former Bachelor hosted on June 20 from 11am to 2pm, at Bellevue Downtown Park, Mesnick reveals that he believes viewers felt sympathetic toward him after he was dumped by Deanna Pappas of The Bachelorette, and soon, ABC gave him a chance to find love on his own on The Bachelor. Now it appears they are repeating this pattern by giving Rycroft more fame through her appearance on two separate ABC programs—and it appears that he’s stating the obvious.

Since The Bachelor wrapped up, Rycroft has found closure and has moved on to the arms of another man while Harris is still looking for love on The Bachelorette. As for Molly Malaney, the runner-up on The Bachelor whom Mesnick dumped and later rekindled a relationship with, she’s happily traveling back and forth to Seattle to spend time with Mesnick and his son, Ty.  And based on Mesnick’s blog, Jason and Molly’s romance remains stronger than ever.

With the fifth season of The Bachelorette down to five men, viewers are on the lookout for that “hot guy who gets his heart dumped by Jillian Harris” as the next possible Bachelor. Many fans are speculating (and hoping) that it’s recently axed suitor, Jake, though ABC hasn’t released anything official yet.
