Supernatural fans have spent an entire season without their favorite angel, Castiel, Misha Collins‘ beloved character was killed off at the start of season 7, but now fans can rejoice because the actor is returning to the series.

Collins’ return comes in the season’s 17th episode, “The Born-Again Identity,” airing Friday, March 23 at 9pm on the CW.

The title alone could give away some info about Collins’ return. Perhaps Cas is born again (brought back by God, as has happened before), only this time he has no memory of who he is.

More details on his return can be found in the network’s official description for the episode:

“Lucifer drives Sam to the breaking point and Sam ends up in a mental hospital. Desperate to save his brother, Dean calls every hunter he knows for help. One of the hunters gives him the name of a healer who turns out to have a very familiar face.”

So we know Misha Collins will play a healer, so it’s a safe bet that he’s not the same old Cas we know and love. Is he Cas without his memories? Is he Castiel’s vessel, Jimmy Novak, only with no memory of the angel? Or is he Jimmy’s identical twin brother, Timmy Novak?

Whatever the story is with Misha Collins‘ return, fans will be happy to see him interacting with Dean once again.
