I mean, sure, he’s been a doomed wizard, a Spanish painted and (but of course!) a beyond-smitten vampire, but Prince Harry?

It might happen, provided film director Peter Kosminsky gets his way.  He’s got Twilight star Robert Pattinson in mind for the lead role in The Spare, a biopic tackling the British royal’s life as he deals with his parents’ separation, his mother’s death, and his Army stint in Afghanistan.

Well, provided that Robert beats out the director’s other choices, which include Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and Pride and Prejudice‘s Rupert Friend.  Still, it’s be weird seeing any of these three play Prince Harry when you very well know how he looks–not to mention you will also have to imagine Ron Weasley and Edward Cullen as royalty.

The film’s script is currently in the works, and once film bosses find someone to play the lead, they’ll be shooting in the UK and the Middle East.

“I feel a sense of compassion for the guy,” director Kosminsky said.  “His parents break up in the most spectacularly public way, his mother dies in the most tragic and, again, public way and everything is picked over.”

Not to mention that Prince Harry is third in line to the throne, and will only assume the seat provided his dad Prince Charles–and his brother Prince William–let go of the position.  Which makes it weirder to imagine Robert as royalty.
