Teresa Giudice, star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison. Her husband, Joe Giudice, was sentenced to 41 months in prison earlier today. They both plead guilty to fraud earlier this year.

Teresa and Joe will not serve their time concurrently. According to the Star-Ledger, Teresa will serve her time first while her husband stays at home with their four daughters aged 13 to 5.

“I’m so scared. I’m blessed, but today I am also humbled. I fully take responsibility for my actions,” Teresa said tearfully in front of U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas. “This is not how I was raised. I am more sorry than anyone will ever know.”

The Giudices will have to pay restitution of over $400,000 and a $10,000 fine. The couple was originally indicted on 39 counts of fraud.

“I’m not gonna deny it, I’m so scared, I’m really scared,” Teresa said before sentencing. “I’m a good woman of faith and heritage. This is not how I was raised. I will make this right, your honor.”

“For a moment I thought about probation,” Judge Salas said, explaining her sentence. “But I think a period of confinement is absolutely necessary in this case. I don’t honestly believe that you understand or respect the law. I need to send a message. In the eyes of the law it doesn’t matter who you are. There are consequences to pay.”
