One week after Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Stewart was served divorce papers by her husband and former NFL player Kordell Stewart, she made her first public appearance at the Bravo upfronts and talked a little about what she was going through.

“This is a very difficult time for myself and my family,” Porsha said. “I’m just trying to remain strong. That’s all I can do and stay prayerful and lean on my friends and family.”

Porsha also admitted that she was blindsided by her husband’s decision to end their marriage. Just a week before the divorce was made public, she did an interview with ABC News Radio where she called herself the ultimate “black trophy wife” and talking about her and Kordell’s plans to start a family of their own. Now she is relying on her own family to help her get through this tough time.

“Well, when you have strong arms and strong family around you, they cover you, that’s what they’re there for,” Porsha told US Weekly. “So that’s who I’m leaning on. And it’s really a blessing to see people, supporters and fans are standing up and just really showing me the love.

Porsha is also getting some support from her fellow cast members. Kim Zolciak, formerly of RHOA and now starring in her own spin-off, Don’t Be Tardy, offered some kind words.

“I would never wish divorce upon my worst enemy,” Kim told US Weekly. “If your marriage is not sound and strong, I do think there are problems, I definitely would not expose myself on television if my husband and I were not in a really great place.”

And speaking of worst enemies, Kenya Moore also came out in support of her not-so-best-friend Porsha.

“While it’s not a secret we have our differences, I never want to see anyone in pain or suffering and would never revel in that kind of news,” Kenya wrote on her Bravo blog. “I wish her well. I’m a fool for love and want couples to be happy. Hopefully they will both find happiness again together or apart.”
