Kenya Moore opened up emotionally about wanting to be a mother during last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now she’s saying that she wants to have a baby as soon as 2014.

“I plan on having a baby next year,” Kenya told Life & Style. “Within the next six months, I hope to be pregnant.”

Kenya said that she plans on having a baby soon, whether she’s found a man to be a part of her life or not.

“I am going to do in vitro,” she said. “I just have to figure out whose sperm to use.”

She admits to considering using her friend and occasional RHOA guest star Miss Lawrence Washington as a donor. She’s also considering the man she’s been dating who works in Africa, who of course she doesn’t mention by name (because he may or may not exist), but she says he is “smart, kind, generous, respectful and driven.”

“I have some options,” she said. “I wouldn’t mind having a modern family.”

Kenya has been open about her non-existent relationship with her own mother, which has led her to want to fill a maternal void with offspring of her own. She was raised by her Aunt Lori, who she speaks nothing but good things about.

“I have always treasured my relationship with [Aunt Lori],” Kenya wrote on her Bravo blog last season. “Lori has always been the voice of reason, wisdom and the epitome of class.”

But even though she values her relationship with her aunt, Kenya wants to be the mom that she never had.

“I want to give my baby the childhood I never had,” she said. “I want to be there for my children, and I want them to know they aren’t invisible.”
