Do you want to build a snowman with Anna? Get ready because we’re closer to that becoming a reality. Once Upon a Time‘s version of Frozen is starting to come together now that two of the characters we all know and love from the hit Disney animated film have been cast: Anna and Kristoff.
TVLine is reporting that Elizabeth Lail has landed the role of Anna, and Scott Michael Foster has been cast as Kristoff. Unfortunately, there’s no news about which actress will play Elsa. (She was seen in the final scene of season 3, though we never saw her face.) Maybe they’re keeping that a mystery until a big reveal at Comic-Con?

Lail is a newcomer to acting, having appeared in two short films, Model Airplane in 2011 (where she played a character named — coincidentally — Anna) and Without this year. Her resume lists her singing ability (she’s a soprano) — could there be some singing on OUAT?
Foster, on the other hand, has acted in multiple TV shows, most notably playing Cappie in Greek. He’s also been on The River, Californication, Zero Hour, Chasing Life and Halt and Catch Fire — the latter two are currently airing this sumer.
The official casting description for OUAT‘s version of Anna says that she is a “fun-loving, fearless optimist who often gets herself into situations where she is in over her head, yet is able to triumph due to her resourcefulness and can-do spirit. She values her relationship with her sister above all else.” Meanwhile, Kristoff is described as a “handsome, hearty, salt-of-the-earth ice cutter” who has a “sometimes-gruff demeanor that can hide his deep love for Anna and her sister Elsa.”

When these characters are introduced on Once Upon a Time, it will take place after the events of Frozen, so Anna and Kristoff are together, and Kristoff is living at the castle and sleeping inside for the first time in his life.
TVLine revealed last month that Anna will appear in anywhere between six to eight episodes, and Kristoff is expected to be in six at most.

What do you think of these casting announcements? Are Lail and Foster the right actors to play Anna and Kristoff? Or were there others better suited to the roles?
Once Upon a Time season 4 will begin airing this fall on ABC.
