Casey Wilson appears to have a promising future in the cards as she acquires more film projects after doing celebrity impersonations of Rachael Ray, Mariam Budia and Rock of Love‘s Kristy Joe Muller as the newest cast member on Saturday Night Live.

Wilson joined the cast of Saturday Night Live for the show’s first new episode after the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, becoming the first new cast member in two years.  Wilson is now the fourth Saturday Night Live cast member to be born after the show’s premiere in 1975, along with Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, and Andy Samberg.

“Pretty much, yeah, but it wasn’t like I went straight for it,” Wilson said of her ambitious interest to become part of Saturday Night Live.  “Feeling like I was ready to send in my tape took me a while. After I graduated from NYU, June [Raphael] and I started doing this two-woman show, which we wound up taking to the Aspen Comedy Arts Festival, which in turn landed us a literary agent, which then led to our moving to L.A. and working on stuff like Bride Wars.  We thought everyone would love us as actors, but the industry was basically like, no, you’re writers.”

At present, Wilson has a lot on her plate.  Aside from her regular gig on Saturday Night Live, she is also working on the script of Bride Wars, a romantic comedy which stars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway.  Additionally, Wilson and co-writer and frequent partner-in-comedy June Raphael will both take small roles in the film.

On top of that, Wilson will also be getting some screen time Meryl Streep and Amy Adams in Nora Ephron’s new flick, Julie & Julia, which centers on Julia and Paul Child through Julia Child’s memoir, My Life in France.
